@lightweight "and by jumping to the fun part you're denying yourself the process" <- there it is; the core of it. it is the struggle that defines us, but the tech bro never experiences any and so feeds on the borrowed sense of achievement of others like a vampire, until all our creations are reduced to a pale and shambling, undead corpse. that's the risk of AI - that it robs us of our inspiration to even try.

@ramblingsteve @lightweight Sounds like just the next phase of . Capitalism already sucks all the fun and incentive to be creative out of all aspects of work in search of profit. AI allows the human drivers of these disincentives to hide themselves more.

@lwriemen @lightweight yes, maybe not even a new phase. since the days of the power loom in the days of the uk industrial revolution, this kind of automation is a means to transfer the value in the skills of the worker to the factory owner.
