Updated #coreboot on my #librem13, only a minor version update. Also moved to byzantium which is currently the unstable branch of #pureos so that I could install gnome-password (v5) which is in #debian unstable. It wouldn't install without the move to byzantium as the libraries are too old in amber. The move was a success so far.
Without the radio shows, finding music on bandcamp would consist of searching for an artist you heard about, or looking through a list of artists and randomly picking one. There is also the algorithm suggestions, but that should be considered as a "heard about" like a suggestion from a friend. Think about this, if you only listen to rock music, how would you know that you also might like a rousing classical tune like Khachaturian's Sabre Dance. Might be reaching, but you know what I mean.
Sure, bandcamp.com has radio shows that highlight a few artists at a time which is great, but what I am thinking of is more like a regular internet radio stream that never stops playing songs from that record company's artists. Maybe a few companies band together to host a stream. Listen to a stream that might contain various genres to discover music you might never have listened to.
Why don't record companies host their own internet radio stream that plays songs from all their artists? Even if it was only one song or just a chunk of a song from each artist, the exposure of their artists to new listeners should be something they want. They seem to spend(waste) a lot of money on promotion through popular media that does not lead to sales. Or maybe they get an initial sale based on overstated advertising but the remorseful buyer is lost to any further sales. Seems a waste.
Just peeped the new pictures for the #purism #librem14. It is almost here! https://puri.sm/posts/librem-14-status-update-evt2-sample-is-almost-there/
