Why don't record companies host their own internet radio stream that plays songs from all their artists? Even if it was only one song or just a chunk of a song from each artist, the exposure of their artists to new listeners should be something they want. They seem to spend(waste) a lot of money on promotion through popular media that does not lead to sales. Or maybe they get an initial sale based on overstated advertising but the remorseful buyer is lost to any further sales. Seems a waste.
