@jemek @purism IMO #Purism could have addressed the #Librem price situation by at least selling some of the older models for cheaper. There are those of us who don't necessarily need the fancy #Librem5 right away, and could instead settle for a 4 or 3. What upsets me is that I'm not seeing these anywhere in the store, only the expensive 5 model seems to be on the market now.

@MirceaKitsune @jemek @purism There is no older model. The librem 5 is their first phone. The 5 in the name indicates the size of the screen on the device. When they release new versions of products they bump a version number instead (e.g., "Librem 15 v4" = "Librem 15 version 4"). So the absence of a version number means that this is the first version of the product.

@leimon @jemek @purism Ah... I am stupid: I thought it was called Librem 5 because there have been 4 other models before it 😂

In my defense, that's the labeling the Samsung Galaxy S series got me used to; It started from 1 which was one of the first smartphones in history. My mother still uses the S1, I currently have an S3.
