Modern cloud platforms are essentially giant proprietary server OSes, so is Parler's difficulty in coming back online due to finding hosting, or is it due to using so many proprietary AWS features, switching providers is like porting server software from Solaris to Windows NT?
@kyle probably both, but at the same time almost all of the “special” features have direct equivalents in other cloud providers. I’d wager the migration difficulties are likely compounded by failing to have a sufficiently generic interface that can use any service’s flavor of backend.
@kyle
Also, far-right nutcases are generally not the shapest tools in the shed, adding to their technical challenges.
@kyle probably both if i had to guess
