@mhoye if using a Tor proxy then there are limits to what it can detect and deal with. Orbot or similar presents as a VPN but then using Chrome to access sites leaks some tracking info regardless of what the proxy can do

@mhoye there are also Tor proxies that allow other browsers to work, which would have no hesitation about providing referer

@mhoye why broken? Is the thought that the Tor browser shouldn't provide referrers, or that links from .onion hosted sites should not propagate?

@mmanfredi @purism note the hedged bets about "start of evergreen batch". Given history, I wouldn't expect to see a device before September or October, even though I was an early contributor (first 14 days)

Announcing airbreak, a toolkit to jailbreak inexpensive CPAP machines to turn them into emergency #COVID19 ventilators by unlocking all operational modes and allowing custom software extensions. airbreak.dev/

@dthompson did they survive (or is the storm still incoming/in-progress)? What technique did you end up trying?

@dthompson hmm... Tomato cage too high for 60mph+. Would create too much of a sail

@dthompson if sides are high enough, could try a tarp over. If not, maybe bricks or something to add height (or a tomato cage in middle) plus weights on perimeter?

Signal is likely getting burned by their centralized approach exactly as I have predicted for years.

We need -decentralized- e2e encrypted chat servers so there is no central party to strongarm.

@matrixdotorg@twitter.com can be self hosted as a Tor hidden service.

@torproject why does the guardian project F-Droid repo only have 9.0.7? And also annoying that the version listed there is the Firefox ESR that it's built from, not the public 9.0.x

@mhoye depends what is meant by "out-there" but the moonrim is interesting.

@Gina might still be appropriate for you. TPM is about coordination between groups, clear communication, dealing with changing needs and expectations. It's managing devs (and others), not developing directly.

In short: better don't use this for anything sensitive and don't make other people install the Zoom app - ever.

Many proprietary software companies are currently using the extended homeoffice situation of many employees to offer lock-in solutions gratis or even labelling them as "free". But take care to build on Free Software. Else your solution today might turn into a burden tomorrow:
