How have I been using UPS in both directions for well over 25 years and I'm just now learning about UPS "brokerage fees". Oh, right, because they are a hidden scam junk fee. Yeah, clearing two small boxes from Canada to the US with erroneously charged $17 of duty, DOES sound like a $300 job.

Monteverde Documental Black ink mostly passed the "puppy licks the page" test.

"and at last I think if I remember correctly I could find no / argument against your seriousness, it matched / my distance from you too exactly"

from "Second Aubade", Jana Prikryl

With regard to eff.org/press/releases/eff-sup -- does it make any difference if you make your passcode a meaningful word or phrase and not just a series of numbers?

"I agree to the UPS Technology Agreement and confirm I've been given enough time to read it and understand that it contains important terms about my use of UPS Technologies, like limiting UPS's liability and my agreement on how disputes between UPS and me will be handled."

you're hanging your hat on "confirm I've been given enough time to read it"?

who was the first person to ever say "who's a good puppy?" and do you think they know what they did?

Yes I am a curmudgeon about it, but I am also genuinely curious when it became the default in so many MUAs to keep the original message's attachments in any reply. Who started that?

What is the state of the war for clean indoor air? How can I find out how safe I will be in a particular location? Is there an accepted way of measuring indoor air quality/filtration/ventilation that is simple enough that every building, even every room, could be annotated with a score eg in OpenSteetMap?

@josh I loved both "There Are More Beautiful Things Than Beyonce" and "Magical Negro" by Morgan Parker -- especially the former. morgan-parker.com/

@josh For a good time, check the Engadget RSS feed, which for a couple years now has been broken, using the featured image alt text as...the headline for the feed items, so you get things like "Title: Diverse young teenage students having fun using mobile phone in college campus". Or maybe it's my reader that's broken, but in that case, I don't want to fix it.
