@virtuous_sloth @evan I can probably also be a qualified yes provided the product very clearly informs the user at start that updates are on by default -- because automatic update checking can itself be a security issue (divulging location etc).
@evan Qualified no because users should be able to enable/disable that, but default should be no.
@mlinksva It would be easy to prove that it's just an unmodified redistribution. Should redistributors who are just recompiling *have* to prove that in order to keep the name? Probably not, but I do have a small amount of sympathy for the point that recompiling can introduce problems, like via the compiler used even if source unmodified.
Yet another reason we need #reproduciblebuilds -- trademark concerns around recompiled binaries.
