Hey folks! Does anyone have recommendations for self-hosted mailing-list management software that are alternatives to #Mailman? I just had to shut down signups to my lists because of DDoS attacks to the form (someone is attempting to sign up 1-2m users to the list/day).

I need a #FLOSS, self-hosted solution - absolutely no proprietary software, and no services hosted elsewhere!

Next week I'll be at #CERN to give a lecture on « #OpenScience Best Practices for Source Code Preservation » indico.cern.ch/event/1232613/ cc: @swheritage

Check out also the other 4 lectures in the series, delivered by friends and colleagues, as there is some great stuff in there!

@spot It's like the saying goes -- "timing, location, venue" -- pick 2.

@paul No sweat, German to the rescue:

Spaßbremse = person who stands in the way of other people wanting to have some fun while doing stuff.

Betriebsbremse = person whose behaviour undermines the efficiency of an organisation.

Stinkstiefel = person who combines the first two traits.

This is why, against my better judgment, I still read Hacker News.

> We invest in projects that benefit and strengthen the open source ecosystem. Examples include libraries for programming languages, package managers, open implementations of communication protocols, administration tools for developers, digital encryption technologies, and more.

Minimum project cost 150k EUR, currently funding curl, OpenSSH, WireGuard...

Have to choose, what should be self-hosted first? With timeframe for second indeterminate.

Are these available in the US? quorn.co.uk/products/quorn-uni

Also props to Quorn for having their own products on their own site 3 out of 5 stars.

I agree with penboutique.com/blogs/blog/fun that Sailor Sou-boku is a really nice pigmented and water-resistant ink. I've been using it daily for a couple of months now.

I switched to it for writing in my planner so that 1) I can use highlighters over entries without smearing, and 2) when my < 1 yro puppy licks my todo list, it doesn't smear/vanish.

Can confirm it passes both tests.

@dneary If you followed TSA's definition of "liquid" you could have a pretty varied diet

@qkall Hah, yeah. Maybe made even more retro by cropping with ImageMagick..
