@maiki@mastodon.sdf.org It's a fair question; I think the answer is that no company should be able to set exclusive terms for such a thing, except perhaps terms that prevent others from setting exclusive terms.

Absolutely not okay that North Carolina State Board of Elections' "Am I registered / where do I vote" form is a Google Doc, requiring software usable only on Google's terms. Nobody should be encouraged by the state to use a particular company's product in civic processes.

Anyone have a reusable Chemex filter that they like? That doesn't lead to watery coffee with sludge at the bottom? (The grind is already very coarse IMO.)
