there's a neat little easter egg in the latest @shiftphones SHIFT6mq bootloader which you can get from fwupd. you can enable it with "fastboot oem enable-mainline-optimization"

Search is effectively disabled across all of Mastodon. You can search for people and hashtags, but you cannot search content.

This was an explicit decision based on how search on other platforms has been abused to enable stalking and harassment.

It's a difficult balance, discoverability vs "protection".

There are ways to semi-circumvent it, but broadly, there is no wide-spread search for content, which is why heavy use of #hashtags is encouraged.
