The government in #Portugal is making a tracking phone app mandatory by law. Among other features, it forces geographic tracking on at all times. Expect similar things in other members of the #EU. A #Linux phone was never so necessary.

I ordered a #Librem5 from @Puri_sm over three years ago, but am still waiting. There aren't many alternatives, but reality is imposing itself. Hope the #Librem5 makes it on time.

Let’s go out to eat, 2020 style…

1. Arrive at restaurant, take mask off mirror (or out of glove compartment) where it hangs or lays every day when not in use.

2. Slip it on, trying not to ruin the hair do.

*MAGICAL ANTI-GERM BARRIER ENGAGE!!!*

3. Proceed into restaurant, opening door with same handle grabbed by 200 people so far today.

4. Hostess who touches her face and mask an average of three times per minute has immediate seating for your woke party of three. Walk past entire restaurant of unmasked people. It’s ok, they’re sitting.

5. Sit down.

*SEATED ANTI-GERM FORCE FIELD ENGAGE!!!*

6. Safely within your anti-germ force field, remove mask. Browse menu while making relaxed inhales of the same recirculated AC air previously inside the lungs of the 200 people that also grabbed the door handle.

7. Waitress, who touches her face and mask an average of three times per minute drops off drinks bare handed, which she touches her face and mask with three times per minute, on average.

8. Grab drink with your bare hand. Sip leisurely, secure in knowing you’re within your anti-germ force field of “seated-ness”.

9. Too many drinks. Need to pee. Don the magical anti-germ barrier mask as you leave your anti-germ force field of “seated-ness”.

10. Walk past 40 unmasked restaurant patrons. Open bathroom with same doorknob grabbed by 100 other people so far today.

11. Return to table past same 40 unmasked restaurant patrons.

12. Remove mask. Once again safe in your anti-germ force field of “seated-ness”. Waitress takes your sweaty drink glass with her bare hand which she touches her face and mask with an average of three times per minute, refills, hands back to you. You accept with your bare hand. Grab some bread and eat it. Same hand. Yum Yum.

13. Meal complete. Mask on. Walk past 40 unmasked patrons. Make full body contact with at least 4 people waiting at the hostess stand as you squeeze your way back to the door – no matter, they’re all also wearing their magical anti-germ barriers.

14. Grab exit handle, which you are now the 220th person of the day to touch. Eating out successful.

15. Breathe a sigh of relief knowing that even after leaving the protection of your home and venturing out into the scary world of the public, you are essentially sterile thanks to your state approved methods of magical germ mitigation, THE MASK!

Nothing is more infuriating than hearing a person use the phrase “BECAUSE OF COVID.”

Folks, very little happened “BECAUSE” of COVID.

Actually—it was the decisions of cowardly government leaders that “caused” the destruction / disruption that ruined everything.

Remember that!

Day 4 (part 2): Today, I did not take any dayquil, but I paid a price for it. I was in and out of a fever for most of the day. Somewhere around 10:30-11:00 this morning I was so exhausted that I had to go to bed. I slept most of the afternoon. I got up around 4:00 then took a shower. It's amazing the difference that a hot shower will make. I forced myself to stay up until 10 despite how tired I am. I have been more tired today, but other than that I haven't felt too bad.

Day 4: I slept through the night like a baby. Apparently I had recieved a few text messages throughout the night, but I didn't hear them at all. The spot in my back is still there, but I almost have to stretch around to find it. I've got a slight headache but no fever. It looks like I am just about done with it.

Day 3 (part 2): I kept using dayquil every four hours, but I missed my last dose. Consequently, the fever came back in the evening. It was very mild so I didn't fight it. I also did not take any nyquil when I went to bed. My sister had dropped off some supplies for me earlier. One of the things that she stopped off was a great strip that sticks to your body. I had stuck it to the area on my back and it helped quite a bit. So when I went to bed on the third night, I did so relatively plain free.

Day 3: With my back hurting, it was a long night. I had taken nyquil, but I still did not sleep very well. When I got up, I took a hot shower, which helped, I took some dayquil, and started working from my home office. In actuality, except for being a little tired, and my back hurting, I was feeling pretty good. No fever or anything. I used a hot hands packet on my back and that helped pretty well. I was able to put in a full day's work just like normal.

Day 2 (part 3): I have found that if I am in my recliner, there are certain positions that I can get in that are bearable. Moving is incredibly painful. If it wasn't for the pain in my back, this wouldn't be all that bad, but this pain is not fun at all. I am about to have to get up so that I can get a dose of nyquil and try to get some sleep.

Day 2 (continued): The main rain that I tested was that someone that I am close to treated positive last Saturday.
After lunch, I steadily went downhill. Primarily, the irritating pain in the left center of my back grew steadily worse. It got to where I would have to find a comfortable position and just stay there. The drive home was excruciating. After I got home, I took another dose of dayquil. (I don't really have any aspirin or ibuprofen at the house.)

Day 2: I woke up feeling pretty good. I still had a mild fever but I felt a lot better than the night before. Since I work pretty much alone in my office, I'm able to go there and still stay quarantined, so I went ahead and drove to the office. The first half of the day, I had mild diarrhea, mild fever and a slight headache. At lunch I drove to a nearby clinic that provides the rapid test for the kungflu and was diagnosed positive.

So, I was diagnosed with the Chinese wuflu today. I thought that I would give a daily update of how things are going.
Yesterday was the first that I showed any symptoms. Very mild fever, some congestion, slight headache, and an irritating pain on the left side, center of my back. I took a hot shower to loosen the muscles in my back, took some nyquil and went to bed.

One of the scariest things about our times is how easy it is to scare people and start a political stampede. There are people who could be upset if they were told that half of all Americans earn less than the median income—though of course that is the way median income is defined twitter.com/ThomasSowell/statu #Mises

#WuhanFlu

Flu season is coming up! Many people every year, sometimes over 100,000, and despite the Vaccine, die from the Flu. Are we going to close down our Country? No, we have learned to live with it, just like we are learning to live with Covid, in most populations far less lethal!!! twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/st #Trump

I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M. Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago! twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/st #Trump
