The US federal govt has just begun implementing a centralized digital currency project (CBDC) to bring about a cashless society where every transaction we make is tracked, monitored, and controlled, thus undermining our autonomy and freedom. To protect our freedom, we must all stand together in rejecting this effort to institute a digital cashless society.
I had a chance to test the battery life on my #librem5 today. I went on a kayak trip and purposefully left the librem in the car unplugged. At 11:30 when I left, it was at 100%. At 5:30, when I returned, it was at 66%.
Battery life is no where near an android phone, but it is definitely improving quite a bit.
@indie1337 @freemo Very true...definitely not happy with where the #USA has gone in this regard...I should probably spread the Gospel more than I do now tbh
The future of opportunities for girls and women is in the balance. That's why @riley_gaines_ won't let the loud, attacking minority win. Here's the story of what really happened at SFSU and hear her call out hypocrite @mpinoe. #RileyGaines

@trhlofficial Any parent or doctor who sterilizes a child before they are a consenting adult should go to prison for life
I’d like to be able to describe reality accurately without it being treated as a slur. Males are men. Females are women. That’s my “hate speech.”

Remember when Target started letting men in women's bathrooms and outraged conservatives refused to shop there until 48 hours later when they stopped caring? This won't last, either. https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1645839970572042246

I have learned in the last year or so, that in order to avoid being called “transphobic” I have to:
1. Abandon child safeguarding.
2. Abandon basic biology.
3. Abandon womens safety.
4. Abandon my religion.
5. Abandon being honest.
6. Abandon my own identity as a Woman.
7. Abandon my Ethics.
8. Abandon my parental rights.
And I concluded that the price was too high, and I have a feeling many more people are waking up to this reality.
But the first thing I had to do was make peace with the fact that I will be called transphobic, no matter what I say.
And I’m okay with that.
Communism's only lasting acheivement is causing 70 million of it's own people to starve to death in the 20th century due to malice and incompetence. Strategic positions are filled to solidify power not meritocratically. It incentivizes people with pervasive fear. Fear of sureveillance and secret police. Fear of going to the gulag, being shot in the street or being sent to the frontlines of a war without a weapon. God help you if there is a color revolution and you happen to wear glasses. You are a slave and there is no way out. You have nothing to call your own, no aspirations just hopelessness. Communism has been tried. It doesn't work.
In a world where no system is perfect saying that Communism is the least maligned is laughable. We have over a 100 years of data at this point. Data that we can access and process due to the information technology revolution driven almost entirely by the flawed but extremely innovative west.
Allowing people to reap the fruits of their own labor is aligned with the common interest because it gives people some sense of self sovereignty which, in the end, is what everyone wants. You can invest your wealth in initiatives you find valuable and grow your wealth while fueling innovation. Capitalism in and of itself isn't some evil invention. Subversion and degeneration of culture are the culprits. Communism has the same issue but there is no hedge against it because the people don't really have any power.
Bet on greed.

I met someone else on campus who has a #librem5
I think this qualifies for the highest concentration of L5's/campus.

Overall, I really love the Librem. It is a vast improvement over the pinephone/pinephonepro. I liked my pinephones also, but the librem is just a much better phone.
I am starting my third year with a linux phone and I have no plans of going back. Especially now that I have the librem.
This phone is almost to the point that I could recommend it to some people. I am hopeful that by the end of this year, I might actually could start to recommed it.
Also, updates that improve the phone rather than slow it down. I saw this with the pinephone also. The updates improved battery life and performance over time.
Removeable battery, wifi card, and modem. The modularity of the phone makes it so that it can be upgraded overtime. Already, I have the upgraded wireless card that they started shipping at first of the year. This is apparently one of the things that they have done that has improved battery life as well as performance.
Now the good.
It runs Linux. Not android, not iOS, Linux.
It is not laden down with spyware. I don't get creepy ads about something I just talked about.
It is convergent also. I was able to hook up a keyboard, mouse and monitor so that I could remote into a clients computer and assist them from my phone.
Hardware kill switches. I can physically turn off the modem, wifi, bluetooth, camera, and microphone using hardware kill switches.
Finally, I have been unable to get my wifi hotspot to work, and my vpn connects but it doesn't seem as if my internet is going through the vpn when on cellular. I haven't tried it on wifi yet.
The weird thing is that the wifi hotspot kind of works if I tell it to use the vpn for internet. At that point, it seems somewhat like a dns issue, but I am not sure yet.
