The coldest year on record for 1/13 in Maine was -5 (26 degrees below normal) in 1971. The warmest year on record before this year was 45 in 1972. So, yes this is the warmest 1/13 in Maine in The 83 years that we have records, but no, it is not aa significant as you make it out to be.
@gardiner_bryant
Records for Maine on weather.gov only go back to 1941 as far as annual temperatures for today's date, so the average is based on less than 100 years average. That said 35 of those years have been below average and 48 have been above. Which means the below average years had to be more extreme than the above average years to keep 21.1 (according to weather.gov)

"We" have not done anything. You may have, I am not sure. But "we" have not.
Just out of curiosity, exactly what temperature is supposed to be today?
If your instance is blocking an instance with folks you'd like to still read, you can add any Mastodon account to your feed reader (I like NetNewsWire myself) by using the following formula:

If you or some one you know are looking at secure #tech alternatives, Made in USA electronics and/or alternatives to the Big Tech companies, do put in a recommendation for us. Protect your bits!
@omgubuntu
Obviously, that was satire, but unfortunately, it is also true. People are people where ever they go.

THESE KIND OF REACTIONS AREN'T LIMITTED TO THE BIRDSITE!!!!!!!

I imagine (hope) that they are probably focusing on filling their current back orders before they work on getting spare parts.
If you're @-ing someone on here, it's really important to check that you've chosen the right person.
Account addresses on Mastodon and the Fediverse always have two parts, the username and the server. Both these parts have to be correct for it to reach the right account.
This is similar to email addresses: you can't just put the first part, you need to include the server at the end too.
To see someone's full account address, look at their profile page. More info at https://fedi.tips/how-to-use-mastodon-and-the-fediverse-basic-tips/#WhatsMyAccountsAddress

It does not however work on the pinephone pro unfortunately.
Turns out that Adobe is collecting all of its customers' pictures into a machine learning training set.
This is opt-out, not opt-in so if you use Lightroom, for example, it defaults to adding all of your photos to the set.
If these are unpublished pictures, work-in-progress, etc. they'll still be analysed as soon as they're synced.
I've been using Lightroom to sync photos from my Windows desktop to my iPad. Now I need to reconsider that.
Looking for people who know something about early computing, especially in the Netherlands. Please boost and help me solve the mystery of this custom made plate that used to belong to my grandfather Bram Jan Loopstra, one of the pioneers of Dutch computing. What do the pictures mean? #computing #history

You are exactly right. It was a big deal because it seemed to have come out of nowhere. It will now be just like the flu, with yearly vaccinations and seasonal cycles of return. Although, I don't think it was leftwings that created the panic - it was the media in general, looking for a big story and causing mania instead. Media is the driver of a lot of what happens in our world! Thus - mastodon for people who actually think instead of reacting.
@cyrilpedia @amymaxmen
In reality, when you get outside of leftwing thought bubbles, you will find that most Americans don't care about Covid all that much. It was at the beginning and remains a mild flu. It is entirely the government's response to covid and the media's lack of pushback against that response that American's are shaken by.

Well, not really much of a grudge to hold. We lost that battle, but we won the war.
@malwaretech
Is that similar to the technique that liberal commentators use, where the call conservatives racist and liars just to get free boosts?
@Linux_in_a_Bit
The question is, is this post in the 50% of the time that are right or the 50% where you are wrong?
