For the past year and a half I have been daily driving #postmarketOS on my Oneplus 6T. Sadly, it seems that my time has been cut short due to the shuttering of 2G towers in my area. Since calling on #MobileLinux doesn't work with 4G yet and I require being able to make calls, I am considering switching to either some random Android ROM or maybe a dumbphone without internet access.

Either way, I am sad.

(Yes, I do live in the US. How did you guess?)

@justsoup
runs , works with 4G, plus you will be supporting a company that makes an open hardware phone and that gives back to community.
Also, it is on sale at the moment for $650, which while not exactly cheap, is about as cheap as you can expect to find it.

@jlcrawf @justsoup I use JMP.chat with my Librem5 including their data sim plan. Works pretty well for my limited needs. Though I only make phone calls when on wifi.

By the ways, does PostmarketOS provides a camera app which works with the #librem5

It was not the case last year

I really except Crimson as the improvements of Byzantium are slow

@theDarky @jlcrawf @justsoup Yes the pmos build for librem5 includes the milipixels camera app. You can see samples here compared to the pinephones and a Pixel 6 and iPhone 12 for reference.
