#microsoft criminals managed to kill #nokia phones with 'proper' #gnu #linux on them (and a vast development team). You can still try to get #pinephone - new article (minutes ago) in: http://www.tuxmachines.org/node/130156#comment-22343

@omgubuntu I'd be very interested in that and myself im going for pinephone.

I've not written about the #Pinephone on the site before. Would you be interested in an article looking at what it is, price, release date, specs vs librem 5 etc?

@digital Yes, we will be selling at least two: a soft rubber one, and a hard plastic one. Both will be ~$10

@nestort @Fairphone jolla store and also storeman app aka a front-end app for openrepos.net @leszek may have some other stuff he can add he is a wealth of knowledge in the community and also a developer of a very useful SFOS apps always great to get new people in ther world's greatest mobile community

Does anybody here have experience with #SailfishOS on a @Fairphone #FP2? Specifically: how do you install new native apps? Via Jolla Store? Are there apps there for "popular" services, such as Telegram? (couldn't find anything, not even such store, in very quick look) How do Android apps work (for example: would OSMand be able to work properly, with location, routing and TTS engines?)

@SlowRain @tootbrute

I still have it - Sony #XperiaX running #SailfishOS. Good secondary/backup phone (esp with my Pixel2's battery issues) but doesn't support all the apps I need.

@cybette @SlowRain @leszek I'm going to get the new Xperia 10 plus soon for sailfishOS once it's official leszek gives it good rating overall and camera quality is much improved!!

@cybette @SlowRain @leszek yes indeed typing this on my Xperia X and batt life is still good itsmydailydrive sence day1 of getting it and flashing SFOS on it!!!

@SlowRain

For the hardware, it's difficult for me to say since I'm not using it as my main device. At least the battery life is good: mastodon.org.uk/@cybette/10240

For #SailfishOS support, @leszek has a great video here with some thoughts: youtube.com/watch?v=q3aFCY33tS

Based on what I've heard from people I know using Sony devices (running either Android or Sailfish), the general concensus is positive for build quality and longevity.
