I read ”1984” by George Orwell around 1984. As I remember he wrote his dystopian futuristic surveillance world fiction book 1948. I also watched the movie from around the same time.
I wonder how I would relate it to the current world if I read it now again 2022.

@hehemrin We are currently in a cross between 1984 and Soylent Green plus bits of Animal Farm, with added features courtesy of William Gibson. Things are so bad that Charles Stross can't even finish a book without something happening in the real world that is crazier and makes his plot appear trivial.
