@tilvids @geotechland I'm on the Fediverse because I try to stay away from political debates, otherwise I would be on one of the first amendment based social networks.

@tilvids @geotechland I like following PeerTube channels on Friendica and watch them there. Friendica is my favourite Fediverse platform because it has so many features and it communicates with all the other networks. RSS feeds support is also nice since media outlets are not on small social media platforms.
@tilvids @geotechland There are probably even better decentralized open source options like Matrix, but should be easier to convince normies to use Signal.
@geotechland @tilvids Social media has turned into a very political and toxic environment. I think instant messaging apps like WhatsApp or Signal is a good replacement for me. Signal is preferable of course.
@geotechland @tilvids I'm on librem.one because it doesn't allow me to see the public feed where the left-wingers can trash Christianity (but not Islam) or anything that hurts their sensitive feelings. I found your channel on Friendica and I prefer to follow only the people I'm interested.
@tilvids @geotechland Most ordinary people don't have the skills to setup their own instance. Mastodon is a predominantly left-wing platform where you can get banned for being a Republican supporter. Mastodon is Minds for left-wingers.
@tilvids @geotechland Most people looking to quit Facebook and Twitter are the ones looking to escape censorship and they're going to platforms like Mewe and Minds. They're not leaving those platforms to be banned on Mastodon for not having left-wing opinions and be called Nazis.
@danie10 The problem is in Communism it takes a revolution to get rid of it. People used to risk their lives on a daily basis to reach Western Europe. In the 80's life in Romania was like now in North Korea. Everything was rationalized.
@danie10 Exactly! Here in Canada the politicians are forcing us to stay inside while they spend their vacations in the Caribbean. My father said Yugoslavia was the only place where Communism was implemented correctly and people had a good life but after the fall of Communism they had the same ethnic tensions US has today and NATO broke it into different countries. @danie10 I was born during Communism in Romania and we had the bloodiest revolution in 1989. For most Eastern Europeans is terrifying to see Westerners praising Communism. I agree Capitalism's has failed but I don't think communism/socialism is the solution.
@danie10 My fiancee is from Philippines so I'm not a racist, but I'm tired of being called white supremacist or white privileged or right-wing extremist for my political views. Yes I vote conservative and I support the Republican Party but that's how democracy works. But now many left wingers are saying openly they want communism, so they prefer one party system.
@danie10 Hate speech can often be speech you don't like to hear and if you are the admin you have the power to just ban that person. That's why I prefer the US first amendment based platforms. I've tried a pleroma instance called free speech extremist but there's too much racist comments for my taste.
@danie10 it depends what you consider trolling. Sometimes it can be just opinions different than your own.
@danie10 There are issues in the world that goes unreported in the mainstream media and we're considered far-right extremists if we talk about them. That's why people leave Facebook and Twitter for Minds and Parler.
@danie10 It's the double standards that bothers me. You know better than me what's the situation in South Africa but I have a feeling the mainstream media is pretty shy to report about how white people are treated in South Africa these days. They prefer to concentrate on "white supremacy".
@danie10 For me free speech is more important than the Fediverse and not everyone have the skills setup his own server. I agree nobody should be trashing anything but it happens on the Fediverse all the time, and It's not the right wingers. Just last night I was on Diaspora and I saw a person posting crap about Christianity. I'm not even religious but it's part of my heritage and I don't see them talking the same about Islam. That would be Islamophobic of course.

@danie10 @danie10 Fediverse is a predominantly left-wing network that takes pride in silencing their oposition and Mastodon is the worst of all. Caucasians only make 10% of world's population and white people are somehow always the problem. It's very common to see left-wingers trashing Christianity and the conservatives on the Fediverse but none of them dares to talk the same way about Islam. I know we talked about this already but I can't stand hypocrisy.
