I know DDG is not to be trusted as they're financing the left-wing. I'm currently using Tutanota and Vivaldi for email. I dropped Google, Microsoft and Apple about 3 months ago. Unfortunately I still have to stick with this Android phone. I would like to install a custom ROM on it but I'm afraid I'll brick it.

I know what you mean but I could barely convince some of my friends and family to drop WhatsApp for Signal. Most normies are not even willing to install an extra app from the Play Store and it's annoying. They:re saying they have nothing to hide.

As a Romanian I find Italian the most similar, and Spanish second most similar to Romanian. We learn those languages very fast, especially Italian, but looks like the opposite is not true. The Slavic influence on Romanian is mostly on the pronunciation and Italy is the only country I've been and I could get around easily without speaking the language.

Movim is interesting. Do you know any other social media app based on Scuttlebutt for Android other than Maniverse? Scuttlebutt might be the ultimate solution for social media, because it eliminates the middle server completely.

I've never tried XMPP and Matrix but I'll have to check that out. Another friend complained that Signal doesn't show him when someone is online. I told him his problem is he's a normie and he wants everything to be like what he's already used to lol. What a boring life would be to not try new things.

@danie10 I asked a friend in California to install Signal today and he said he has other priorities now. Me too, so after I delete WhatsApp he can only contact me through phone calls and text messages. Interesting fact is the EU countries are not affected by this new change in the terms of service.
