OK let’s talk about That Op-ed. The one that insisted not only that privacy is dangerous, but that not affirmatively building surveillance into communication tools is a radical ideological position.

I don't feel as strongly about quote posts as I did in 2018. Personally, I am not a fan, but there is clearly a lot of demand for it. We're considering it.

Today insulin is capped at $35 for those on Medicare. Democrats unanimously voted for this, yet so-called "pro life" Republicans unanimously opposed.

NYC can afford $11 billion for its police budget, but it can't afford to stop me from getting off a plane at JFK airport with a 102 degree fever, getting on the airport subway maskless, coughing and sneezing on everyone I see, and stepping off in Times Square, shedding virus on everything in sight.

@daniecleme The basic answer is that Putin's war cost the global economy in the order of $3tn, or about 3% of global growth. That's not evenly spread, and decoding it is a lot of work (the US is more insulated from grain prices, but more vulnerable to, say, oil prices), but the comparable figure in the US is somewhere in the region of $600-$700bn a year in lost growth, or roughly equivalent to the entire US GDP growth for 2022.
