@mekkaokereke @jalcine @brianonbarrington @PJ_Evans It's exhausting how impractical we are about so many things. It's literally energy sucking to know that keeping vulnerable people homeless is more expensive than housing them but we refuse to house vulnerable people. It's exhausting that we're hurtling towards planetary extinction because we can't think practically about our planet and reshaping our societies. It's soul crushing that we make people work themselves to death even though we have evidence that people are more productive when they work fewer hours. It's devastating that we're poisoning the air and water even though air and water are essential to life on our planet.

For too many, Elon is their god, and their religion overrules their reason.

I picked it up from a Stephen Marley song. I’ve been unable to find its source or origin, to-date.

"Make those who will profess vows here learn through a long trial period not to think their life will amount to words alone, without deeds also."

What did Martin Fowler call it, “Shitty Agile For Enterprises”, or something like that? Your variant is very accessible. I might steal. ❤️

, a British film streaming on Netflix, is a beautiful story, full of representation!

Leo Long is autistic himself, playing an autistic character, which was inspired by the director’s autistic cousin. There appear to be other folk among the supporting cast (I see an tee).

Highly recommend for , -friendly folk, and anyone who loves a feel good comeback story.

The Black Panthers were revolutionary, but not because they had Black leather jackets and berets and shotguns. They were revolutionary because they were armed with breakfast, and vaccines, and the truth.

They weren't revolutionary because they wanted to "kill white people." They didn't want to kill white people, not even the racist ones. They wanted white people, even the racist ones, to see that racism is a tool used to oppress all people.

I met Little Richard IRL in the early 90s. My HS marching band played the Hollywood Christmas Parade, and he happened to be staying in the same Hollywood hotel. He was ultra kind. He was also passing out end times conspiracy tracts which argued that George Bush (Sr.) was the Beast, and JPII was the Antichrist, from biblical prophecies. Because numerology and their names.

It was a surreal experience.

@mekkaokereke The reality is nearly ALL American music is black music. Country, bluegrass, punk, garage, psychedelic, experimental/avant garde, all have deep roots in black culture. Too many people fail to realize this and have this ridiculous narrow idea of what black music is and it all comes down to the racism that continually co-opts and then erases the black element at the origin.
