Icelanders have rejected plans to resume negotiations to join the European Union more than a decade after previous talks stalled, the national broadcaster reported Sunday.

In a vote held Saturday [Aug, 29th], 52.8 percent of Icelanders rejected the resumption of EU entry talks suspended 13 years ago, while 47.2 percent voted 'Yes', according to the official tally published by RUV, the public broadcaster.

The Community of has officially begun testing the new driverless trains that will begin operation on Line 6 starting in 2027.

The new trains are set to be introduced as part of a comprehensive refurbishment of the Circular Line, which aims to improve the passenger experience by both increasing capacity and reducing journey times to as little as two minutes.
