An FT source claims that the president is ready to dismiss Syrsky if he finds a suitable successor.

Earlier, protests took place in Ukraine after the dismissal of Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov. Among the protesters' demands was the resignation of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
