I did not foresee that the ignorance and stupidity of voters would become one of the main governing forces in world politics. I was way past 40 when I stopped believing that smart, educated people would always prevail in medium-to-high-functioning democracies. I am deeply disappointed and disgusted to be living in such a stupid timeline.

Dagen efter Alla hjärtans dag öppnar jag försiktigt dörren till fedisverige.se och börjar med en katalogtjänst som är helt valfri att delta i.

En av de vanligaste utmaningarna för nya användare på Fediversum är att hitta intressanta personer att följa. Katalogen kan potentiellt göra det enklare att upptäcka konton som pratar svenska – eller har annan anknytning till Sverige – utifrån yrke, intressen, plats eller andra kategorier.

Man kan också markera sina favoritkonton i katalogen och på det sättet skapa en lista. Listan går att dela som länk med andra eller ladda ner som csv-fil - som kan ladda upp på sitt konto för att följa hela listan på en gång.

Det är typ det, och en hel del tanke bakom för att motverka missbruk. Tjänsten lyfter medvetet inte in antal följare, profilbilder eller biografier. Och varje registrering försvinner efter ett år om man inte aktivt verifierar igen. På det sättet hålls katalogen relativt aktuell och funktionell.

I framtiden är planen att komplettera tjänsten med en Fediversum-guide för nybörjare.

Om du blir nyfiken är det bara att testa att registrera sig. Berätta om något strular. ❤️

Don't anthropomorphize LLMs, language is important. Say "the bot generated some text" not "the AI replied". Use "this document contains machine-generated text" not "this work is AI-assisted". See how people squirm when you call out their slop this way.
