@eliasr Stumbled across this Desmond Tutu quote the other day. Illustrates your point quite clearly. The status quo is never free of politics, ever.
It occurred to me that when someone says things like "keep politics out of it", or "political discussions are not allowed here", and similar, what they are really doing is itself deeply political and they are effectively making a statement in favor of the status quo, supporting the current powers-that-be.
There is no place without politics.
The statement "this is not the place for politics" really means "I support the powers-that-be and that's the only opinion allowed here".

Djupa rötter har tillsammans med Naturskyddsföreningen i Uppsala län fått stöd från Leader Upplandsbygd att starta upp ett nytt nätverk för skogsägare i Uppland som vill bruka sin skog hyggesfritt eller är intresserade av skogligt mångbruk.

One thing about "AI" is with the technology OpenAI has (large neural network plus manual tagging) you could've made the best search engine ever. There could be a Copilot where you describe what you wanted and it finds an example of it in the corpus of open source software. You could go from a fuzzy image description to a stock image. These would be better than buggy code and fucked up images. But they wouldn't do that because the *service* OpenAI provides is obscuring that the content is stolen.
Reading "On Freedom" by Timothy Snyder (2024). From page 201:
"If freedom is a right, maintained the philosopher Joseph Raz, then it is also a duty. Freedom cannot be selfish. To declare oneself free is to promise to act such that others can be free. We must imagine a society of free people and try to build it. Morally, logically, and politically, there is no freedom without solidarity."
