This comes with Libreboot pre-installed, which is a free/open source BIOS/UEFI implementation based on coreboot. It provides better security and freedom for users, compared to running proprietary firmware.
Debian Linux pre-installed.
I'm Libreboot's founder and lead developer. Sales fund the project.
This is actually the T580 I use. Libreboot 26.01 RC1 came out recently. I took these photos at #39c3 CCH!

This lawsuit isn't primarily about Linux, which is just 1 of 26 copyleft projects on the TVs; there's both GPLv2 & LGPLv2.1 binaries; Vizio's sources remain non-compliant on various issues. I think maybe you didn't read what we've actually said?
Lots of Linux developers care about this and have different views, so maybe take some time to talk to them or me about it? Could be fun!

After lengthy discussions with some experts, I start to see a way to define and measure #DigitalSovereignty as a combination of three vectors:
- Ownership
- Control
- Trust
Ownership can focus on data, hardware, software. Control flows from ownership. Who has authority to grant and limit access, use? Trust should obviously flow from ownership and control as the final checkpoint. With this I can start to sort different approaches and proposals in the DigSov discussion. Maybe it helps you too?
