Coinbase’s sponsorship of Trump’s military parade angered some in the crypto world, who described the move as “deeply disturbing” and “an insult to everything our industry stands for”. But this is only the latest example of crypto companies aligning with state power.
Earlier this month, the cryptocurrency firm Ripple made a $9.4 million contribution to the San Francisco Police Department to fund a surveillance center outfitted with drones. “We’re going to be covering the entire city with drones,” enthused a SFPD Captain about the donation.

@artfors ja det var sjukt slappt. Man kunde ju tro att de åtminstone skulle tycka det är en intressant fråga, men verkar inte så.
Jag tror det har gått så långt att de inte ens reflekterar över att det kanske är ett problem att det bara finns google/apple. De kan inte tänka den tanken ens, det sitter så hår att "det är såhär det är", inget att fundera på , inget att undersöka, och vekligen inget att försöka ändra på. 😕

@joakimfors @marcusosterberg jag tror det bara är under en kort övergångsperiod som vi ser de här problemen. Snart kommer granskningsnämnden själva att använda "AI" för att utföra granskningen också, från den stunden kommer det att vara högsta kvalitet rakt igenom. Och den som klagar behöver inse att problemet ligger hos hen själv.

This event is part of the @EUCommission’s Horizon Europe program, which probably has funded more free and open source software development than any other government program.
The next grant program framing is bizarre—Virtual Worlds and Web 4.0—but €14.5M available for “Open Internet Stack” dev.

2 juli ökar repressionen med hårdare straff, inskräkningar av vår yttrandefrihet och ett nygammalt brott återkommer. Tidigare kallades det för missfirmelse mot tänsteman, en lag som togs bort 50 år sen. Nu återkommer brottet som Förolämpning mot tjänsteman - med fängelse på straffskalan.
Vi tycker naturligtvis det är förjävligt och kallar därför till manifestation mot den ökade repressionen vid fontänen i Brunnsparken 2 juli kl 18:00!

Anyone would like to sell a Nokia N9?
I promise it will be in good hands. I'd like to play with Debian on it, as long as the 2G networks are still available around here (<2 years) and then use it as a wifi XMPP client.
I'd also like to port Mobian or Maemo Leste using a Mainline kernel.
I just cannot really find any offers.
I'd be interesred in N900 and N950 for the same reasons.

Of course, an LLM user will not understand what the text that comes out really means, understand the thought behind it, because there is no thought behind it. There is nothing to understand, there is only "content" which does not really have any meaning.
