I don't see how any US citizen could find this acceptable. Even the more extreme "MAGA" folks, I have a hard time seeing that they would think "yeah, let's team up with Russia!"

Please help me understand this.

@karlemilnikka man kanske kan säga såhär utifrån begreppet tillitsribba som ni ju hade ett avsnitt om:

Olika personer/organisationer kan ha olika tillitsribba och när det gäller kommunikation är det bra att göra på ett sätt som gör att man kan kommunicera även med de som har satt ribban annorlunda än man själv. Det är dumt att säga "jag kan bara kommunicera med dig om du installerar den här stängda programvaran på din enhet". Signal är bra på det sättet menar jag.

@potatisapan @waspfactory jag vet inte vad som är bäst (eller jo, Fripost! https://fripost.org/ 🙂 ) men protonmail är i alla fall 1000 gånger bättre än att vara låst till google/apple/microsoft och egen domän är jättebra för då är man inte inlåst 👍

@neil you are right that there is no guarantee. There needs to be better ways for money to make its way to where funding is needed.

Still my prediction is in this case that it will be fine. If not, I will personally send angry emails to Försäkringskassan 🙂

@neil I think Matrix will be fine, because big organisations are already building on it and they will not let it die.

For example the Swedish Social Insurance Agency builds their new things on matrix (see https://cfp.matrix.org/matrixconf2024/talk/NFCLDB/), that agency could alone easily cough up that kind of money, it would be cheap for them. And that's just one agency, in Sweden, add to that all others using matrix around the world. The value matrix provides is huge, costs like $610K are tiny compared to that.
