Another thing that bothers me: how can you recommend Google Pixel phones?!?

The fact that Google has started expanding its influence to include hardware making is very dangerous.

They are moving towards having control of both the operating system and the hardware, like Apple.

Having separate hardware makers and software makers is good, because it leads to standards being used and it limits the power of any one individual company.

Google and Facebook can do this kind of crap, and they can do much worse, without consequences. It is not surprising that they behave badly, it is to be expected. And we should expect even worse in the future, as their power increases even further.

Regarding the fact that Facebook and Google are shamelessly publishing blatant malware ads and refusing to take them down, @karlemilnikka asks "how is this possible?" as if it was super surprising.

The reason that is possible, which is not mentioned in the podcast, is that those companies are so big that they do not need to care. There is effectively no competition, no "market forces" that would matter to them.

A question to @Mer__edith and @signalapp : when will Signal Desktop be available for aarch64 (arm64) CPUs so that it becomes straightforward to install #Signal on #MobileLinux devices such as #Librem5 and #PinePhone ?

If that is not happening, then why, what is stopping you?

The (wrong and silly) assumption that everyone must use Google/Apple phones is expected from Big Tech these days but you are supposed to be among the good guys. Please help us be free from Google/Apple 🙂

@xianc78 I think I would still care, but it is true that FOSS has become very much more important, even critical, due to all the internet-related badness going on these days. FOSS is the only way to at least try to not be owned.

@dagen jag tycker det hade varit fint om KD lät sig inspireras av vad Jesus hade att säga om att hjälpa människor i nöd. Vilken migrationspolitik skulle Jesus ha förespråkat? Skulle Jesus ha uppmuntrat samarbete med SD?

@wizvii jag tror dock att "konstruktivism" eller inte spelar mindre roll, de stora viktiga misstagen som det gäller att rätta till är de här två:

- Kommunaliseringen. Jättedåligt.

- "Fri"-skolesystemet. Fruktansvärt dåligt.

Återställ de sakerna så blir det bra tror jag, jämfört med det är det lite skit samma vilken sorts pedagogik det står om i läroplaner. Bra lärare som får förtroende att göra sitt jobb kommer att ge bra undervisning, formuleringar i läroplaner spelar mindre roll.

@wizvii jag tror denna förklaring stämmer, kopierat från Wikipedia:

"Konstruktivism är en skolbildning inom pedagogik som betonar att människor själva skapar och konstruerar kunskap i interaktion med omvärlden, till skillnad från äldre tankar där kunskap betraktas mer som en entitet som kan överföras från exempelvis en lärare eller bok till individen."

Så den som är emot "flum" och vill tillbaka till gammaldags korvstoppnings-undervisning, gillar troligen inte konstruktivism.
