@CIMB4 @itsfoss As long as you fit in RAM, the bottleneck will be the sloooow HDD. But when you exhaust RAM, you will start swapping (if you have any swap) and it will be a whole another level of pain.
TL;DR it's going to work reasonably well only if your distro, DE/WM and apps are simple (use little RAM).
@ArtHarg @noelreports There are multiple variants. Some drones just have a warhead that detonates when ramming into ships. Some have multiple rocket launchers for striking ground targets (perhaps also ships). Some, like this one, have anti-aircraft rockets.
BTW this drone is called Sea Baby and English Wikipedia article on it talks about this very video. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_Baby
@lnp The transcript mixes English and German, sometimes even mangling sentences.
@ArtHarg @noelreports Noel says the drone does have a "converted R-73 short-range air-to-air missile". This is probably why the helicopter was dodging when the drone started turning. They really didn't want the drone to face them.
@GreenFire @JoostThissen @noelreports On the western side, people think that Russia will suddenly nuke everyone because a NATO plane shot down a Russian drone over Ukraine. No, as long as there is no NATO threat to Russia proper, Russia won't do such a thing. Of course they will keep threatening to do it, because they know gullible people believe it.
US doesn't do too much because of internal politics and wanting to keep moderately good relations with Russia because of potential war with China.
@GreenFire @JoostThissen @noelreports NATO troops shouldn't go to the front. They could help guard the rear areas, shoot down missiles, provide logistics, etc.
Most people do not comprehend that Russia's thought process is fundamentally different from western one. An example from Russian side: Girkin was surprised that Polish troops have neither attacked Ukraine to annex its western part, nor arrived to fight Russian soldiers. 1/2
@JoostThissen @noelreports Individual countries, especially those bordering with Russia, don't want to send troops alone. They are afraid that Russia will retaliate and NATO will say "sorry, we won't defend you because you sent troops, so this isn't pure self defense".
NATO could make this an official NATO operation, even if only few NATO countries send soldiers.
@itsfoss Quality shitpost. This is an AI equivalent of a SFM/Garry's Mod video animated by a crab.
@noelreports South Korea has a lot of Soviet-era tanks it doesn't need anymore...
@FediThing @djh @parismarx But isn't the amount of delivered renewable energy bound mostly by money? There already were ideas from AI companies to invest in nuclear energy to ensure they have enough energy for AI use. If they poured all that money into building up renewables, we'd see renewables grow even quicker. That would be ideal.
Unfortunately there is the risk of AI bros being discouraged from massive investments into renewables by their fossil fuel friends.
@VoxClamans @noelreports NATO can always decide to be more flexible and let Ukraine join under special conditions. For example, declaring only certain parts of Ukraine to be under articles 4 and 5.
@zaufanatrzeciastrona @panoptykon @Watchdog_Polska Pewnie dobrze o tym wiecie, ale na wszelki wypadek powiadamiam.
@pieist @noelreports Abrams can be destroyed by drones, but so can any other tank without an active protection system. A tank that can be destroyed is still way better than no tank.
@MugsysRapSheet @fsfe Government paying to have software written specifically for a private company, without any benefit for the public would be a misuse of taxpayer money. But for you (as a programmer, not taxpayer or citizen) nothing changes - you get paid to write software. If you think the pay is too low or the goal is unethical, simply refuse.
@GreenFire @noelreports They were very clearly firing at that guy, first trying to hit him and then to suppress him. This is the exact opposite of "wasted". A random American uses up more ammo on a short visit to the range.
@noelreports So far, I only saw Russian trolls making up stories about how Poland is full of rich Ukrainians who don't want to fight.
Social benefit cuts might be aimed at getting men to return to Ukraine (which Ukraine wants too) and at saving some money, which current Polish government is desperately trying to do.
@GreenFire @noelreports Bullets are cheap, lives are expensive.
@chowderman @noelreports Sounds more like an ultimatum to me.
@MugsysRapSheet @fsfe The author already got compensation when the government paid them. If you work for a company, do you get extra compensation for each new software copy sold by the company? Or when the company sells the source code? Or when the company opens the code? Of course not. You agreed to transfer copyright to the company and got paid for writing code. That's it.
@crazyeddie @fsfe It's the same as with any other government information: some can be specifically classified if there's a good reason, anything else should be public.
