wtf does #github regularly require #localstorage to be enabled to render various parts of its site? first it refused to render files, now it refuses to render file listings on the "main" repo page. got to about:config and disable dom.storage.enabled - and then open any github repo, and enjoy the void...
@stf because #Microsoft wants all the data they can gather on developers, that's why they bought GitHub. They have some #SurveillanceCapitalism business, and now, they want it to feed all of their #AI#LLM systems.
@eighthave sure, but that does not explain why they need localstoragein the browser - especially for rendering the rootdir and the readme -, what you suggest would mean they want to suck everything to themselves, not store it at the edges.
