I'm looking for a that can transfer pictures and videos to a (preferable ) computer via or .

I gave up on my .

I'd prefer a camera by a producer which does support linux, but any working solution is welcome.

I need an option to shoot macros (additional lens, built-in function) and I do need it to be small (no dslr).

Nice format would be e.g. DJI Osmo Action + macro lens, but didn't find information on linux compatibility.

Still no compact camera to use for wireless picture download to a linux computer found...

Boosts welcome!

@chrichri Most of these wireless picture download solutions seem to be (sorry for the language) proprietary garbage. Maybe a USB-C microSD card reader or pine64.com/product/pinephone-m and are the easier and equally viable solution.
That aside, have you had a look at Entangle (entangle-photo.org/) and the cameras it supports? That could narrow the search down.

@linmob @chrichri It would be really great to have an entangle compatibility layer in Megapixel application :). I asked about it to OpenCamera authors long time ago, never had answers.

@linmob

I do agree with your "garbage" terminology!

That's why I'm dropping the Nikon .

Just before I read your toot I found gphoto.org/doc/remote/ . libgphoto2 seems to be the software to go with.

I'll have to see which hardware will work for me.

To get help I opened an issue here: github.com/gphoto/libgphoto2/i
