Since there are 3GB replacement mainboards available now for the #pinephone I made a video on the process of replacing the board:
@martijnbraam Thanks for the hint, ordered the upgrade.
Thanks @martijnbraam for the video.
Exchanged the mainboard and my #pinephone still works. Now running jumpdrive to put my #mobian image onto the new emmc.
Did anybody have a good idea how to "dispose of" the old mainboard? Wouldn't it make a nice sbc usable as an access point or something?
@chrichri @martijnbraam and putting back original board makes it (touchscreen) working again. So it was a good experiment, almost flawless :)
@ruff
Sorry to read that the board didn't work. I had problems with connections at first also.
But after reconnecting everything the new board worked.
Maybe @pine64 is willing to replace it?
From your description it really looks like the board is the problem and that you didn't make any mistake replacing it.
@chrichri Yup I've opened a case with them, didn't get any response tho yet :) Either way I have a long xmas break and some tools to learn schematics and come up with the plan on how to debug and confirm whether it's me or the board.
@chrichri @martijnbraam
Mine didn't go that well unfortunately, all boots and loads but touchscreen doesn't work on a new board.
