@beli3ver We plan to open source all of our applications, but before open sourcing each client, we are conducting a thorough third-party code audit. The audit for Android is still in progress at this time. iOS was prioritized because had received threat intelligence about a suspected Chinese malware targeting activists using iOS devices and we wanted to share potential countermeasures with the iOS developer community.

It is one of the curiousities of the #fediverse, particularly #mastodon, that we tolerate (even encourage) #bots/botwriting, despite being quite intolerant on other issues. We have even spontaneously adopted an "it's okay if people can opt-out by adding the #nobots tag to their bio" justification.
Don't we rail about corporates who demand our privacy unless we follow obscure opt-out ceremonies?

Yes, the #Librem5 doesn't have have modern hardware, yes, it's expensive for now & yes, Purism has made missteps along the way, but I am still eagerly waiting for mine, because it's been 12 years since the original iPhone and I'd say that's enough of a head start for proprietary software. Once there's real hardware to target, free software will catch up quickly & that will make hardware OEMs consider it, springing up more compelling hardware, eventually, but for now we can't be very HW picky.
