Using alt text is super important. Please continue to use it. It really makes a world of difference!!! I love how mastodon is very inclusive with all type of disabilities and everyone here is so kind. I have not seen any other social media use this much alt text. Ich bin aus Twitterby hierher gekommen und freue mich, dass ich schon ein paar alte und auch neue Leute zum Folgen gefunden habe. Bei Twitter bin ich seit 2008 und ich habe dort Mutuals, die (noch) nicht den Weg ins Fediverse gefunden haben. Also werde ich noch beides nutzen. Die Crossposting-Funktion habe ich aber deaktiviert, damit ich "zielgruppengerecht" posten kann.

Unless the same person develops both the server and client/app, and to a degree that 99% of edge cases are handled gracefully.

That's why it's not fair to compare fedi apps to twitter/IG/FB/etc because we don't have the same resources they do.
