“Netflix has switched by default from G1 to Generational ZGC on JDK 21 and later, because of the significant benefits of concurrent garbage collection.
“More than half of our critical streaming video services are now running on JDK 21 with Generational ZGC, so it’s a good time to talk about our experience and the benefits we’ve seen.”

Wikipedia downgrades CNET’s reliability rating after AI-generated articles
Futurism report highlights the reputational cost of publishing AI-generated content.
Docusign just admitted that they use customer data (i.e., all those contracts, affidavits, and other confidential documents we send them) to train AI:
They state that customers "contractually consent" to such use, but good luck finding it in their Terms of Service. There also doesn't appear to be a way to withdraw consent, but I may have missed that.

"Wayland and X.org are both part of freedesktop. Whatever maintenance is still happening on X.org is mostly being done by people who primarily work on Wayland. There isn't some kind of holy war going on between The Wayland Developers who want to kill X.org, and The X.org Developers who believe it is great and want to keep it. They're nearly all the same people, and they all want X.org to die."

Last Friday, I attended the OpenJDK Committers' Workshop (https://openjdk.org/workshop) and I liked it. So many smart developers talking about how to make OpenJDK even better. Without knowing, it would be hard to guess who works for what company. Very different from meetings where company product marketing is always present. I love the passion the OpenJDK devs put in their work. Probably one of the reasons why Java is still so great. Cut the crap/hype and make things better.
