"Solar coaster " is an apt pun to describe the last 20 years or so of Australian government policy on #renewables. A large part of the apparently chaotic ups and downs in policy is due to the belief that the transition will be achieved by dangling just the right combination of incentives in front of households and (directly, but also via households) private industry. Never mind changing technologies, economics and targets. It's a product of blind adherence to neoliberal dogma. The British Medical Association (BMA), representing over 200,000 UK doctors, voted to reject the use of the IHRA definition of antisemitism within the NHS, saying it can be used to restrict legitimate criticism of Israel and limit discussion of human rights abuses in Palestine.
