@Secftblgirl @l0wk3y
Carville doesn't want to see the DNC go down in flames.
Funny that he hasn't said anything about AOC's "Courage to Change" PAC either yet.
@TheMadPirate @Secftblgirl It's because she's just a congresswoman and not running a national election.
@TheMadPirate @Secftblgirl Right...but from a political standpoint no one really cares because she doesn't have anything close to the power of the presidency.

They're doing this because Sanders is is essentially the left wing populist guy. Both he and Trump have a well stated tack record of pissing on the ruling class, which is why they're doing this.
@l0wk3y @Secftblgirl
Funny thing is, if Putin were really trying to make Trump reelected, he would interfering in favor of Bloomberg, the guys the democrats at "The Intercept" call a "Far Right Candidate". Bloomy is the single most impressive caucus turn out killer you will ever get.
@TheMadPirate @Secftblgirl Yeah, but the thing is Sanders is the theoretical front-runner.

You wouldn't go after a dude who has no chance of winning, you want to tar the guy who does have a shot. You can get a hell of lot more mileage out of that.
@TheMadPirate @Secftblgirl Because if he gets the nomination or even wins the election whatever discord they're trying to create is going to continue on just like it has with Trump.
@l0wk3y @Secftblgirl
The MSM never goes after their own, they will simply call it a "Conspiracy Theory, unlike Trump's....blahblahblah". Remember that still today the MSM says Clinton's Uranium One has been "already debunked" and that Peter Scheiwzert's research is "inaccurate".
Sanders would definitely be shield against accusations if he gets the nomination.
@TheMadPirate @Secftblgirl He's not one of their own, if we're talking about the media. The media are just corporatist knobs who go after whomever their bosses (ie: defence contractors an such) dislike the most. They also love sucking up to the establishment because that guarantees their access going forward.
@l0wk3y @TheMadPirate @Secftblgirl At this stage the anti-Sanders rage from the Democratic party insiders and the media is based on their estimates of his electability - that he can't possibly beat Trump.

Once nominated most of them will fall into line behind Bernie because they hate Trump more, but it won't work. Trump will win.
@TheMadPirate @Secftblgirl @l0wk3y Bloomberg isn't going to be nominated. If they cheat Bernie it will be to replace him with someone who was in the race from the start. No carpetbaggers, no benchwarmers.

That counts Hillary out as well.

My guess is if Bernie's momentum keeps up they will capitulate and let him have it, same way the GOP folded and let Trump have it.

To do otherwise would burn the party to the ground.
@judgedread @Secftblgirl @l0wk3y
My theory is that the DNC will fall for Bloomberg and Corporate Donors big coffer of shekels. Mainly for how hard it has been for them to fundrise in the last 4 years.
@TheMadPirate @Secftblgirl @l0wk3y You don't live in the US, do you?

The hatred for Bloomberg among Democrats is hotter than a trillion suns.

He will never be nominated.

@judgedread It depends on who you're talking about. The DNC would love to have Bloomberg be the nominee. The rank and file Democratic voter certainly hates Bloomberg though. It is also true that the leadership of the Democratic party is quite happy to commit suicide to ensure that Sanders doesn't win to benefit their class interests. @l0wk3y @Secftblgirl @TheMadPirate

@terryenglish @l0wk3y @Secftblgirl @TheMadPirate The class interests are, shall we say, that of the alienated immigrant who still burns with white hot hate about the membership policies of country clubs 100 years ago.

In this they are fully aligned with Ocasio Cortez and the rest of the Vendetta Coalition.

@judgedread The class interests is of most of the American population versus a comparatively tiny number of oligarchs that control most of state policy and use that control to asphyxiate the bottom portion of the society. @l0wk3y @Secftblgirl @TheMadPirate

@terryenglish @l0wk3y @Secftblgirl @TheMadPirate That's one aspect. But the elite will line up for Bernie to be rid of Trump. They want open borders and free trade and Trump is fucking up their plans.

@judgedread Bernie is not for open borders so if that's what his supporters want (and I doubt most of them do) then they're voting for the wrong candidate. @l0wk3y @Secftblgirl @TheMadPirate

@Secftblgirl You're going to have to enlighten me because I have never seen him propose that. I've seen him rail against open borders. @l0wk3y @TheMadPirate @judgedread

@Secftblgirl This article takes his position and then asserts at the end that his position is now the opposite because he's in the Democratic party. 🤷‍♂️ @l0wk3y @TheMadPirate @judgedread

@Secftblgirl @terryenglish @judgedread @l0wk3y
"Banning the exportation of oil"????
I guess Sanders believes than neither Texas nor Alaska provide any electoral college seats.

@TheMadPirate Fracking should be banned. Fossil fuels are a dead end even ignoring the detrimental effect using them has on the climate. @l0wk3y @Secftblgirl @judgedread

@terryenglish @TheMadPirate @l0wk3y @Secftblgirl Global warming is a Marxist lie. We should frack the fuck out of these barren states until they're drained dry.
@terryenglish @judgedread @l0wk3y @Secftblgirl
Global Warming is a hoax based on a false premise: that humans are not only irresponsible dangerous beast who do not know what they are doing but at the same time have the power to terraform Earth's Worldwide Climate via Industrial Production.
@TheMadPirate @terryenglish @Secftblgirl @judgedread @l0wk3y
>humans know what their doing
You are so wrong that it's hilarious. On the grand scheme of things humanity is a bunch of morons that are stumbling in the dark. If there's one thing that is absolutely true about humans it's that we definitely don't know what we're doing.

Also, calling global warming "terraforming" implies you have little understanding on this topic. 2℃ is hardly terraforming, but because of how complex the climate system is, even a minute change can have stunning effects. But the worst part is, that the entire thing has a feedback loop built into it.
@alyx @Secftblgirl @judgedread @l0wk3y @terryenglish
I am a realist in the first place, an indeterminist in second place and a rationalist in the third place.
Rational individuals know what they are doing, even when a large part refuses to use critical rational thinking or does it selectively. When they are given equal a priority probabilities to create more efficient products and services, they do. Like the Tomatak, for example.

Secondly, you are assuming there's a) a complete understanding of how global climate works and b) that the initial conditions are known. And so far the only model that adjust to observable data predicts a much much lower increase than 2C in 100 years, not to mention, it doesn't predict the effect of the incoming mini ice age.
@TheMadPirate @Nobody @Secftblgirl @alyx @judgedread @terryenglish Whatever is going on, I spent the day waling around DC I counted about 6-7 black dude rocking MAGA hats.
@TheMadPirate @Secftblgirl @judgedread @l0wk3y @terryenglish
No matter how rational people might be, on the grand scheme of things they don't know what they're doing.

Firstly, there's only so much around you that you can observe and tell the effects of your actions. You know the immediate effect of throwing a plastic bottle in the trash, but after that you don't know if that bottle got recycled or ended up in the stomach of some whale.

Secondly people don't know what they're doing because at least half the time, even the smartest scientists imaginable, are just doing things by trial and error. That's not knowing anything, that's literally just taking a wild guess and hoping for the best. If humanity knew what it was doing Corona-chan spread would have been stopped weeks ago.

You can claim that humans know what they want to achieve, cause lots of times that's true. Some of us clearly wanted to make something more efficient and set out to make Tokamak reactors. But they hardly know what they're actually doing, since it's been decades of trial and error, and the process is still not finished.

As for the climate part:
a) no, there's no complete understanding of how climate works. Partly because the system is probably more complex than anything humanity tackled so far. Heck, even weather prediction fails after a few days. But you don't need perfection to be able to predict some overall trends. The 1 - 2℃ is less important than the observation that temperatures are rising.
b) here's where you're wrong. The initial conditions are known well enough. I'm not aware of any particular model that shows a "much lower" increase than 2℃, but most importantly, how do you even know there's an incoming mini ice age if no model predicts it? That's some bs right there in my view.
Heck, technically we should be in a cooling period RIGHT NOW, not incoming, but now as we speak. Historical and current data about the Sun's activity tells us that we should have been seeing lower and lower temperatures these past few years, with the trend continuing towards the future. Instead we are still seeing increases in temperature, last year being another record setting.
@TheMadPirate @Secftblgirl @judgedread @l0wk3y @terryenglish
Reading only a bit of this study makes me think that you completely missed the point of what it was trying to analyze in the first place.
It's not saying that "global warming not real yo and humans not to blame". It's explaining 3 particular deviations from the trend as effects of phenomena we've recently started to understand and take into account.
@alyx @Secftblgirl @judgedread @l0wk3y @terryenglish
Well...good to know global policies are established by people who believes that humans are irrational beast who don't know what they are doing and therefore need global daddy government to tell them what to think and do, based on a phenomena they admit they are only just barely beginning to understand ( and therefore still lacks prediction power) , am i right?.
@terryenglish @l0wk3y @Secftblgirl @TheMadPirate Malign people always extort by appealing to pitiful female tendencies. Oh, it is unsafe! Give up! Renounce your risky business!

I say rip energy from the heart of the fucking Earth bleeding and feast on this world! It is ours by right of conquest!
