On "Adaptive GNOME apps", also see the nice GUADEC talk by Purism's Tobias Bernard

@purism will we really be able to plug it into a monitor and use it as a regular desktop?

@greebus yes we have put a lot of effort into developing an app ecosystem that works on both mobile and desktop. You also have access to the entire repository of ARM Debian libraries and apps.

@purism My question is: Why is it that I cannot boot to one of your ISO images? It seems that it never works. I've tried on my desktop with a 2nd Gen i5 with no results and I've also tried in a VM through Virtualbox AND VMWare. What gives?

@archibaldj @purism what operating system do you use? :) I have an i5 2500k which doesn't seem to have a problem running the librem 5's qemu image under gnome-boxes. might be worth a try ;)

@vancha @purism thanks for the advice :) I'll give it a go here soon. Switched desktops recently but I'll give a vbox vm a try

@archibaldj @purism alright good luck, If it doesn't work out, instead of the iso try the latest librem 5 qcow image, and just open that with gnome boxes. I tried it on a couple of other pc's in the meantime and it hasn't failed yet ^^

@purism What version of Gnome will these adaptive apps start showing up in?

@purism - when is the phone be ready for use with UK SIM cards? Is the price going to decrease?
