What is this a reference to? 🤔

Yeah, it hits you right between the eyes with all the usual "woke" arsenal — too much even to my tastes. But the story itself isn't terrible — has a couple of good plot turns, I could even finish the first season, not sure I'm ever up for the second one though 😅

But some of the side characters and their plot lines are good. Even the "woke" stuff isn't so straightforward, e.g. poor black guy ultimately turns out a real bastard, not worth sacrificing your life for — even though "he does it for the family", which is quite unusual TBH, because in your average show "doing it for the kid" buys you immediate indulgence for all the worst shit you can possibly do.

This immediately makes all other characters unrelatable to me: any sane person, especially adult one, would immediately say: "Fuck this shit, I'm out!"— and be done with it.
But in any case, there is nothing particularly standing out about this show, if you didn't like it — nothing of value was lost.
@m0xee @p @splitshockvirus I've never seen nor read Invincible just think Omni-man is cool and funny :gigachad:

"But you're not a parent, you don't understand" doesn't work here — because the actions of this character are understandable and completely justified, but others — why do they prefer sticking around even though it's obvious they can trust them anymore as the baddies have his/her kid, even after putting the whole group in danger numerous times.
