@thor gamers actually do this to reduce weight of their mouse
@m0xee @thor actually no, wired mice have cable drag which isn't good. and wireless is so good that it doesn't matter what you use. just have to make sure to put the dongle close to the mouse

@Jessica
Cable is not a problem if it's braided, I've always had Razer mice until recently and didn't even realise it's a big deal, but it is!
My last wireless "gaming" mouse was Razer Lancehead and it was the worst mouse I've ever had — it was so bad that after over 15 years of using Razer peripherals I've sworn to never get anything from them again. Maybe things improved since then, but it was just horrible!
It was a half-joke anyway, not meant to start this wired vs wireless holywar😅
@thor

@m0xee @thor yeah problem with gaming mice is that they usually are pretty sensitive to stuff like that. the cheap razer deathadder they sell, even though the scroll wheel is garbage, the cable is pretty good.
I also like having my wireless mouse because I can mix and match cables if they're rechargable, right now I use a magnetic charger as my mouse cable because it has the perfect noodley un-stiffness that a mouse cord should have
@m0xee @thor I don't know how razer's wireless is, but I've been using corsair wireless mouse and other than needing icue for some things, it's a very solid mouse, I haven't had many disconnection issues, I will note however, if you're using it on a desktop, you do need an extender, as effective wireless range is only a few feet line of sight.
also did you hear Microsoft made a gaming mouse, it's called Intellimouse Pro. they added RGB underglow in a tasteful way as a remnant of their laser intellimice that had a red glow for the red light from the sensor, very cool.
it's basically the same mouse but modernized so if you liked the original, the new one shouldn't be that far off.
@m0xee @thor there's also another mouse that replicates it somewhat, still partial to the intellimouse though, it's such a classic

@Jessica
Wow, this looks nice, I should give it a try!
I was thinking about getting Intellimouse Classic, it was about the same price as Ergonomic Mouse and it's where Razer drew inspiration from for the original Deathadder, so, familiar shape, but I've decided to try something new and got the Ergonomic Mouse.
I didn't know about Intellimouse Pro, now I think I know what my next mouse is going to be, thanks for the tip!
@thor

@m0xee @thor the intellimouse pro is the same shape as the classic, the pro just has a gaming sensor and gaming-oriented features.
@m0xee @thor I also heard the intellimouse classic isn't thst good for precise movements

@Jessica
Must be Deathadder Essentials you're talking about, yes, even the sensor in that mouse is decent according to reviews. I was thinking about getting one to replace my Deathadder Elite, but as I've decided to move away from Razer (Lancehead wasn't the only reason, but it was the last drop), I've got Microsoft Ergonomic Mouse instead. I like the shape, the wheel and the switches, but the sensor is pretty bad. And the cable is not braided. But it was less than $10, so not that bad.
@thor

@m0xee @thor my deathadder essential mouse has jumpy scrolling, you will scroll down fast and sometimes it'll scroll up for a split second and vice versa
@m0xee @thor I like the shape of the deathadder, it's a good mouse to learn palm gripping on.
@m0xee @thor $10 can't complain.
I've spent more and got less.
my corsair harpoon started getting a chalkboard feeling in the scroll wheel but I blew it out and then put some thick keyboard lube in the shaft and it hasn't did that since, although I wouldn't reccomend the harpoon wireless unless you have a laptop, it's a small narrow mouse with firm clicking.
I want to get a logitech mouse, like the G502, the new one, but I can't justify the price, and the cheaper ones don't have optical switches and the ones that don't have an extremely short click lifespan.
@m0xee @thor however I do say that I think logitech has picked up their act and that may have been a bad run of switches.

@Jessica
Small mice are better than I've expected them to be. I've got this fine rodent (HP Bluetooth Travel Mouse) several months ago to use with my laptop and I'm impressed! The shape is good, it's design is very interesting — it's not that prominent on this photo, but it's side and the wheel have a triangle pattern. It's almost silent, which is nice if you use it with laptop — never know where that will be. It's not "gaming" and I don't know how long it will last, but so far so good!
@thor

@m0xee @thor hp mice are usually pretty good, I haven't had a bad experience with them, though my only experience is the single digit dollar oem mice

@Jessica
Despite being HP branded, I think Logitech makes these mice — should be good. And again, I've got it at at huge discount, it was like $12 or so.
Definitely not gaming grade, but the sensor is decent in this one, at least it's better than the one in Logitech Pebble which I also sometimes use with this laptop — I don't carry the mouse around and just pick whichever is closest to me 😂
@thor

@m0xee @thor yeah Logitech makes the best shitty mice. Their cheap mice are actually gaming sleepers, even the wireless ones.
