Mark Shuttleworth in 2016: 'Ubuntu keeps GNU/Linux relevant'
This is a short interview with Mark Shuttleworth (CEO of Canonical, makers of Ubuntu) that I did back in 2016.
His answers were fascinating.
@lunduke
Was he high during it? There are plenty of good distros outside of Ubuntu. Why the hell would he consider ChromeOS the go to Linux, if Ubuntu didn't exist?!
@lunduke
.... what about all the other distros?
@lunduke I wonder why he would use the word gnu at all, when chromeos would be his preferred choice if it wasn't for Ubuntu. That to me, indicates that he doesn't value the freedom gnu/linux based operating systems *can* offer, just their convenience. In the long run, the two are probably more dependant on each other than many assume.
@lunduke These quotes did not age well.
