@pkimpton

Is Twitter about to get more invasive than Facebook?

The company's latest acquisition gives it creepy powers that advertisers would die for.

@jameshjacksonjr Funny that article is 6+ years ago. Probably already long happened.

@pkimpton
That's what I mean they started taking back then and track even more now today

@jameshjacksonjr anyways, on my 10hr, 3 stop route. Been at work since 2pm

@jameshjacksonjr 4hrs driving. An hour between each stop. Plus 30-40min at each stop. An hour home to unload. And whenever I squeeze in my 30min lunch.

@jameshjacksonjr it can be. But it's why I don't pay for a gym. Now I'm heading to stop 2. Roughly an hour to get there.

@jameshjacksonjr nope, this why I watch my carbs. No need to kill a large pizza on one sitting like I used to.

@jameshjacksonjr I've spent many a night asleep with fully loaded meatlover's pizza.. Can't do it anymore.

@pkimpton
Oh you can't eat a full large leftovers any more can't hang?

@jameshjacksonjr if I haven't eaten all day then yeah. But otherwise pizza for breakfast. Can't kill a full bottle of bourbon in one night either.

@jameshjacksonjr saves me from getting hooked on prescription pain meds and their side effects. Usually make a bottle last a few weeks.

@jameshjacksonjr
I try. Side note.. Does the Fedilab app crash for you trying to access the camera?

@pkimpton I'm using librem social app now only briefly tested fedilab app then deleted it earlier today

@jameshjacksonjr The Librem Social app kept crashing for me in the notification bar. So I pretty much switched to keeping any Mastodon open in my browser with push notifications.

@jameshjacksonjr weird maybe I'll stick with the browser and keep tabs open like I was doing.

@pkimpton @jameshjacksonjr I get the same behavior with Android 6, but I can open the app normally. I just close the notification and open the app.

@lwriemen @jameshjacksonjr Exactly... But I switched over to Fedilab but then I can't hit the camera button without the app crashing. No app is perfect apparently. Maybe I'll stick with the browser tabs for my instances.

@pkimpton @lwriemen weird I just tested fedilab I don't have that problem I'm doing it on sailfish OS not android thou

Follow

@pkimpton might be your device I'd try it on a friend's device if u can see if it still behaves like that.

@jameshjacksonjr I'm not worried about it... browser notifications work just fine for me. Plus one less app on my phone.

@pkimpton u should see if you can totally get rid of apps and do it all from the browser!!

@jameshjacksonjr Been whittling away at doing so. Paypal was the first, Dunkin Donuts I only use the app to pay. I manage it from the browser. But may just switch back to using the card itself.

@pkimpton yeah turn phone on scroll to the app open it up open the pay section so they can scan it vs pull card out of wallet pay and go

@jameshjacksonjr Half the time the app has been shitty anyways, slow af refreshing funds on my DD card, etc. So I'll probably do that anyways just ditch the app.

@pkimpton there won't be no dunkin app on librem 5 your going to a device with no mainstream apps

@jameshjacksonjr Well aware of that. But also why even though failing my lg v20 will still remain as a wifi only device to use with my Hak5 wi-fi tools.

@pkimpton will you always have a GOOGLE android phone as well as librem 5 over the years

@jameshjacksonjr for years to come probably not. But it'll be good to keep for a backup in an emergency. But also like I said one of the wifi tools I use, I can use it with the phone for various things. Until I can test how well it works with the Librem. But also like I said before I have a few games on it I'll probably still play as a time waster. As they're not on any other platform besides iOS. And I'm not going to the big A

@jameshjacksonjr Librem won't be for mobile gaming to say the least. I'll keep that for regular stuff. Besides also I can keep the LG as a backup mp3 player for the work truck. I like to re-purpose my old devices until the officially stop working. Used an old Blackberry for an mp3 player for years.

@jameshjacksonjr I didn't say you couldn't use it for gaming. I know this. I don't want mine to be used for that purpose.

@jameshjacksonjr Not an RPG fan myself. if I did any, it would be with an emulator and play old NES games.

@jameshjacksonjr Obviously stuff I do now, banking, personal business. But also keep in touch more with people than I do. As with Android I get too distracted by other apps, etc. So for me less will be more. Probably see if I can scan wifi, etc wireshark, etc.

@jameshjacksonjr Now if any of these games were coming to it, I'd definitely be playing games.. madfingergames.com/games Shadow gun games, Dead Trigger.

@jameshjacksonjr Most of the Linux games outside of what's on Steam. Haven't impressed me honestly aside from a few terminal games. About the only non Steam game was Astromenace

@jameshjacksonjr just gave the proverbial ax to Flipboard among other newsletters over the weekend.

@pkimpton most people I know gave up flipboard at the same time most forgot they had an account till they got the email from them my friend said he got an email saying they were hacked but he forgot he even had a account with them till then is that what reminded u to delete it that email?

@jameshjacksonjr about the hack. Nah. I didn't care to use it anymore.

@jameshjacksonjr I never got an email saying I was hacked. I didn't even see the article that Flipboard until after I killed my account. lol Odd though.
