TIL after 70 weekly comics:
Drawing faster, or a faster painting technique doesn't necessary lead to a better productivity and good ratio of artworks I love compared to my time spent on them with my stylus in hand. But I did the mistake of believing this, stubbornly, and for long.
However, a boring technique, even slower, but one you can split in steps, trust, and predict, eliminates many bottlenecks: freezing, endless redos and stress. This leads to a better productivity and peace of mind.
@davidrevoy It's the redraws and cleanups that were killing me. I've been working hard to eliminate those from my work lately and it's starting to pay off.
@davidrevoy @TopazRabbit This is the case in many disciplines: making adjustments and fixing issues early is cheap, but fixing them late is very expensive.
@elgregor @davidrevoy @TopazRabbit I can confirm for software engineering and I have a strong suspicion for writing ttrpg content.
