Librem 5 runs plain, ordinary GNU/linux, a version of Debian. Which means it runs plain, ordinary linux apps, like an epiphany-based web browser, a geary-based e-mail client, and, apparently Doom. There will be an 'app store' for installing the programs from the PureOS repositories, and of course additional repos can be added.
The Librem 5 not lacking in apps. They are just desktop apps, only on a phone.
