The content makers can get money on the platform, but with a currently-smaller audience of course it will probably be less.
But my point is not to solely host content on Peertube. It can automagically embed in various blogs, sites, feeds, etc. from there due to #ActivityPub, including bridging to Youtube. From a content maker POV it is the #DRY or #WORA equivalent; you only need to upload it once to use it everywhere.
And then that community factor of #p2p - share your bandwidth.
