I am partial, in concept, to #peertube for video, because it shares the reader and publisher's resources to distribute the content (and, incidentally, this makes it resistant to server overload since the more people viewing means the more seeds available.)

And on #federated #socialmedia the audience can all display the same events - whether it's a video, a photo, an essay-length article, or a brief #toot. And everyone can respond directly, with text or media, via their #fediverse server.
