I'm giving an online talk for the Calgary RASC chapter (amateur astronomy group) on Thursday about satellite pollution that's happening in our skies right now. It's open to the public, so if it works out in your time zone and you're interested, come listen!

I worked at a company that had NVIDIA chips in the motherboards being produced.

You don't understand. The NVIDIA guy would show up with a locked briefcase. He would go into a lab that only 4 people had access to. He'd flash some ROMS, and then disappear.

If you'd asked me 2 hours ago whether NVIDIA would *ever* release an open source driver, I'd have bet any sum of money against it.

Happy to be wrong.

It took visiting Venice for me to wonder how all these stores get deliveries. Boats, it turns out.

Re #Introduction

The specificity with which this jar is labeled "bee honey" fills me with hitherto unknown worries.

I had a didgeridoo in high school. And a unicycle. I have no idea what happened to either of them. It's weird to think there's both a didgeridoo and a unicycle out there, somewhere, that I used to have.

"Office Space" and "The Matrix" were essentially about the same main character.

Is there a good half-remembered song search engine? I just spent 10 minutes trying to remember the title of "Land of 1000 dances" but could only google "the na na na na na song but not the one where he's kissing goodbye or that other one but the one where he wants some help with it one time".

So I'm back to teaching myself React and with every thing I learn I keep saying louder and louder "God I wish I weren't learning React right now". Is this really some people's first introduction to programming?
