Has anyone played with the oracle cloud free tier here? Any good or bad experiences?
@vincent I use mainly for tests and less important things. E.g. arm64 tests. In my EU/Frankfurt region it works smoothly for more than a year. I know a person maintaining a single instance of mastodon there.
However, I do not trust this service.
@m0bi13 Yeah I don’t either. I was thinking of using it for an expendable CDN-like use case.
@vincent If you don't exceed the free-tier limitations it should work fine. I have no problems with it, I use ubuntu on x86-64 and aarm64. Both work quite well. No surprises at all.
Turn on the ports on the firewall to start with, here everything is blocked by default.
If you choose only 1 vps not 2, you can use 200GB storage.
