Today is supposed to be the day when Twitter breaks all remaining third party systems by closing its API. According to reports, yesterday they already did the same for their own apps and website. Wonder if this #moa moa.party cross-post from mas.to/@osma still works.

nope, #moa crossposts no longer make it to the birdsite. At least, they don't make it there with under 25 minutes of lag (which they used to do). Also I don't seem to see anything from people I know have been crossposting birdsite->fedi since about 13 hours ago.

There still are a few people I'd like to follow on the birdsite, but I'd prefer not need to go there. I've been using tweets.icu mirror for this, but with the API dead, it doesn't work. No worries, there are more tools. bird.makeup is still works:

"Unlike BirdsiteLive, bird.makeup doesn't use official twitter api, but the undocumented frontend api, just like nitter.net, which doesn't have rate limiting."

You know, bird.makeup is INCREDIBLE. Not only does it get past the Birdsite's API limits, it correctly mirrors threads, replies, retweets and quote tweets. I understand some large instances block it, and I feel doing so is as stupid as Birdsite's API blocks are. It's an amazing tool for bridging the gap for some of the people who haven't found their way here yet, but should. #birdmakeup

@osma @vincent I can’t figure out how to use it. Or if it’s being blocked by techhub.social, the instance I’m on.. if someone can explain both to me I’d appreciate the assistance

@jasonrak @osma Try again, there was a problem with new follows in the last 24h that was just fixed

@vincent @osma Vincent when you say try again, what do you mean?
